On Wednesday, David, the kind restaurant owner, showed us around the island and took us to see the marble quarry and shops. Romblon is famous for its marble, which is some of the best in the world. It was very interesting to see how everything is done by hand. The marble workers are really skilled at shaping the marble into beautiful pieces.
After that, we walked around the town. Romblon has a very cozy feeling with old Spanish wooden buildings that made us feel like we stepped back in time. The city is quiet but full of charm, and we enjoyed soaking in the local atmosphere.
The evening was extra special—it was our 20th anniversary. Melanie and I first met in Boracay on April 23, 2005, so it was nice to celebrate this milestone at the resort with Zara and Jasmine.
The next day, Jerome, who owns the resort, drove us in his big SUV to San Pedro Beach. The beach was stunning, with clear blue water and colorful fish swimming around. We went snorkeling and spent the afternoon relaxing by the sea. It was a peaceful and fun day.
Yesterday, we woke up early to take the pump boat to our next stop, Boracay Island. Jerome was kind enough to take us to the port, and David came too, carrying a bag of fresh morning bread for the trip. Leaving Romblon was a bit hard for all of us. Zara and Jasmine even shed some tears as the boat moved away from the island.
Romblon is a special place with lovely people and beautiful sights. We are already looking forward to going back :)
